In this video I make a ring box from Mallee burl and epoxy resin. I have actually worked with a great deal of Mallee burl and its constantly pretty cool but this piece was really great with loads of character.

Wow I’m just blown away. Definitely gonna need to add this to the list of “Project ideas”. Thanks for the inspiration Andy.❤
How in the heck do you come up with these ideas. I’m just blown away by your work. Would be cool if you would showcase your shop in part of one of your videos. Great work keep it up.
The glaze you put on after the paint gave the ridges SOOOO much character
This piece is amazing! I’ve never seen a ring box like it. 💙
Thank you!
I could spend a good few hours watching the creation process. The clean up must be a nightmare!
Now most people would just bin those leftovers, but you’re not most people when it comes to wood and resin, your talent knows no bounds.
Beautiful work as always Andy.
Thanks Chris 👍
Gorgeous Andy, as usual. That Burl is amazing, and your workmanship, as always, is perfect!
Many thanks!
Fabulous! Your vision to see how a piece can end up always amazes…
That was very different. The burl polished up like leopard print. For me the colour under the resin was a little light compared with the wood, but the use of the natural surface texture that way was inspired. I also kept being reminded of those old cooling towers at Didcot power station, which was a bit distracting. But the imagination that went into the piece and the usual consummate craftsmanship were stunning.
Simply stunning Andy. Phenomenal piece.
hey andy a tip from me the ring box turned out really nice. 👍 good work you could emphasize the points in the lid of the can even more by dabbing them with a darker color and a brush to get even more character out of the lid. stay the way you are and have fun with the wood turning Mfg oliver
Wow! I had no idea what this was going to look like at the start. I’ve not seen you paint a surface like that before, and the clear resin worked brilliantly. That is exquisite. Whoever is lucky enough to receive this as a gift will be forever grateful. It is stunning!
As usual Andy, beautiful and practical, the little ring holder and lid inside, lovely touches! I’m sure nobody would have a problem putting a ring or rings inside this! 😍
That is gorgeous. Best of luck to whoever is setting a ring in there 😉 With a box like that, I can’t imagine anyone saying no.
Stunning, Andy! Really beautiful work!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
It’s amazing and frustrating at the same time watching you create these beautiful pieces seemingly effortlessly. – Chris
I’m always amazed at what you can create with big or small pieces. Nice work! One of a kind!
This ring box is beautiful! Yes, the Mallee burl does have a lot of character. This turned piece was well executed, Andy. 👌 ❤
Incredible, nicely done. Thanks for the inspiration as always!
Simply stunning. What a unique piece, your ability to take an interesting lump of wood and turn it into something quite remarkable is amazing.
Beautiful! I love the design, layers of gorgeous grain. Very unique ring box.
