If you have actually enjoyed my channel for a while, you will probably understand that a person of my preferred wood to turn is Yew. It has a lot character and never disappoints. I typically turn natural edge pieces with it and believed it may be cool segmented however with a brick result to separate the segments. I utilized a dyed oak veneer and completed it with Danish oil.

Beautiful work, Andrew
this was a fun one to watch being made
Another beautiful piece Andy. Well done indeed.
Awesome. You’ve outdone yourselves again.
😎 a little brown jug with a neat grain pattern!
Now I’m no expert – quite the opposite in fact, but I suspect that the level of skill required to produce this intricate and stunningly beautiful object is pretty well off the scale, particularly as it’s done purely by eye without, as far as I can tell, any reliance on mechanical or other outside measuring equipment or guides. I am amazed and I thank you for sharing your skills with us mere mortals.
I suspect quite the opposite. Those angles and segment sizes would have been carefully calculated before cutting. Hence the time spent in constructing the jig to do the cutting. Still brilliant nonetheless!
You must have the patience of a saint with all that cutting and sticking together again! It’s definitely worth it. A beautiful shape as well as the wood itself.
Very nice shape. I like the neck of the opening and the way it rolls out.
Beautiful as always Andy! I didn’t even notice the pink colors until you were done. It always fascinates me when you start with a plank and end up with a container. Beautiful! ❤️
Brilliant way to use a flat board. With a stunning result.
The segments of varying patterns of grains laying side by side creates a wonderful effect. Fantastic work!

Simply gorgeous. The thin dark wood really accentuates each of the segments. Masterpiece by the genius
So beautiful! This wood has a lovely warm colour.
Very pretty! It has a nice shape, and I agree, Yew does have a lot of character.
Now that is one heck of a puzzle to put together.
