In this video I take a Silver Birch log and turn a natural edge bowl. I seemed to be turning air as much as wood on this piece, produced some cool footage when accelerated. I finished it with Danish oil.

I see the advantage of turning a log from its side rather than straight on. You see the interesting patterns that get exposed as well as getting more of the live edge, not to mention the intriguing shape. This is a lovely piece.
