Woodturning – The Art of Turning Air !!

In this video I take a Silver Birch log and turn a natural edge bowl. I seemed to be turning air as much as wood on this piece, produced some cool footage when accelerated. I finished it with Danish oil.

  3. I’m very glad you knew where the edges were, ’cause I had precisely zero idea from this side of the screen. Never mind, the result is, as it always is, a beautiful piece. I think I like these flatter profile pieces most of all.

  4. I see the advantage of turning a log from its side rather than straight on. You see the interesting patterns that get exposed as well as getting more of the live edge, not to mention the intriguing shape. This is a lovely piece.
