In this woodturning video I turn a natural edge bowl from a Birch burl and completed it with Danish oil. I think I'm typically pretty good at using a burl to its full potential, however I think I wasted to much of the burl on this piece. I got pretty much the appearance that I wished to get and I do believe its cool but if I had chosen some sort of vessel it would have displayed more of the burl instead of it being turned away. what do you believe?

That’s a nifty trick carving air in the beginning.
It looks wonderful
It’s beautiful just the way it is Andy. Definitely a piece to be proud of. . .
Здравствуйте Энди, вы очередной раз создали необыкновенное чудо, очень, очень красиво.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
good morning Andy from Canada, I don’t know what your vision was for this piece was but I see it as a uniquely, beautiful work of art, love the finish that brought out the lovely woodgrain, also I loved the live edge, as a lay person, I thought it perfect!!!
Love the uniqueness of this piece. Great work
Very unique & beautiful
This is beautiful Andy! I think the burl is wonderfully showcased this way.
You definitely didn’t mess up! That’s beautiful!
I think you made the right choice. The bowl’s an unusual shape and the natural edge suits it. I think the wood is shown off perfectly! ❤
If you hasn’t said “I think I messed up!” I would have never had the slightest doubt as to how this would come out. As I watched this be created I kept waiting for something bad to happen but it didn’t. The real complexity of balance between what was there, what was removed and what was left amazes me. I like the rustic, rough edges but I’d never know where to start, where to stop or even how to start to get the balance and effect between man and nature you’ve achieved..
Thankyou 👍

Piece sort of looks like a skateboard with a reclaimed by nature sort of feel to it. I love it❤.
In the words of Bob Ross, “There are no mistakes, just happy little accidents.” Keep up the great work mate❤
The natural edge really compliments the look of this bowl. Another beautiful piece of art, Andy!
