I recently ordered some lollypop/popsicle sticks, which I utilize for blending resin and paints and so on, these were too short however the colours were pretty cool so the only practical thing to do was to cast them in resin and turn something. I truly didn't like the look of the piece when I began turning it, however it absolutely grew on me and in the end I thought it turned out quite cool and slightly unusual. I completed it with some finishing oil and rubbed it with some abrasive paste.

I agree…I wasn’t feeling it at first, but by the end I loved it! I wonder how it would have turned out if the popsicle sticks were dyed all the way through. Either way, it turned out lovely in the end with the oil stain!
Best oil application ever. Until then, I wasn’t sure if I was 100% into this one. NOW I want to see a globe and a torus, as well! Actually obsessed, ngl.

Ok, ok, ok, hear me out: there are SO MANY possibilities for color patterns here! I was a little skeptical until I saw that they were rainbow colored, and then my imagination started to run wild. Now, to watch what you did with this batch! 💙💙
Oh, wow. I agree with others: the oil application really makes this one pop. The unexpected chatoyance is delightful, and the way that it looks like you matched the “grain” of different pieces of wood is very cool. I do think that these have a lot of potential for other projects, too.
