I loved doing this years ago. Made several pieces then life got in the way. I built my own machine and used an antique Variac to raise and lower the 120v AC input. If you don’t have a Variac, I suggest you get one! It gives you more control over the patterns you can burn, i.e. thinner or thicker burn patterns. I used 3′ long PVC pipes for the leads and a hyper sensitive “dead man’s” switch under my foot, so virtually zero chance of a mistake… Stay safe, and have fun!
This is incredibly dangerous, and frankly irresponsible to be showing on YouTube. It’s been banned by multiple national woodworking associations for a very good reason. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS.
Wonderful Andy. I mean that’s 5000 Volt high current 👍. Best regards from Hans and Cheers 🍻 🇦🇹.
This is so dangerous, I hope you’ve got a good safety rig while using it. I assume so since you are a professional.
Any hobbyists tho in the comments don’t try this. Fractal wood burning has killed dozens because of the high voltage needed.

This is making tattoos using electricity. Don’t try it on humans! 😉
