Making A Garden Storage Cabinet

I've made an outdoor cabinet in our carport. We had a location in our carport that was just filling with garden tools and garden stuff. I wanted to clean this location up. I had some pieces of poplar and some free plywood I had obtained that I used to make the cabinet. I made the sides and top out of rail and style frames. The back is a sheet of 1/2-in plywood. I made a base out of a frame of poplar that the entire cabinet rests on. I attached adjustable feet to the base so I might keep whatever level as the floor of the carport slopes away from your home for drainage. I likewise made a peak of the scrap pieces of poplar.

  4. Frank, your graphics keep getting better over the years, I have a funny feeling that you really enjoy that part of your video creation. Plus, it really adds to the projects for us, to see your vision laid out for us before you get started.

    1. I’m blown away with the editing and stop-animation and overlays that are used. Does Frank do all the editing himself? IT’S a ton of work if he does!!

  5. Beautiful cabinet, Frank. Glad to see you back in the shop. Gardening season is coming soon, so you and Bonnie will definitely make use of your new storage.

  6. Hubby and I took a carpentry class at our local Adult Education Program for 2 semesters. I’d never really worked much with the machinery in the past and was very scared of the saws. I built an armoire as my first project and learned EXACTLY what you are talking about today. Woodworking is NOT precise, and I thought it was. I love my armoire for all her imperfections because no one will ever see them. I learned a life lesson of being happy with “good enough” no matter what project I’m working on. Wood filler and shims can fix just about any boo-boo you make in carpentry. Thanks for the beautiful video today, Frank! Cheers from San Diego.

  7. Perfect I’ve watched your channel for many years but this is the best…….. someone who can think seriously about how its done rather than a quick result means I’ll continue to watch you channel for hopefully many year….

  8. I’m so happy to see a new video from you Frank! I miss your beautiful, well-considered builds, and your soft-spoken and humorous narrations! Hope all is well with you and your family!
