The Old Oak Gate Post …

This is the last piece I obtained from the old Oak gate post that I discovered. I simply planned on making a hybrid hollow kind with blood red resin, but I had some flame orange resin leftover from another job, so included that to the top which offered a cool looking fire effect so chose a Lava Lamp instead.

  3. That was a lovely surprise at the end! I thought you were making a vase. The colours of the wood and resin compliment each other beautifully, and the light makes it look like there’s a “flame” inside! Absolutely stunning!

  4. Just what I needed this morning. I always enjoy the transformation of an unpromising chunk of second-hand wood into something unexpected. The final effect reminds me of an Olympic torch, the resin being the perfect colour for the job.

  10. Amazing how some resin and creativity can transform what looks like a rotten old gatepost into something so stunning. Then the addition of the cable and LED’s takes it to the next level. That would be the sort of lamp I would love to buy and show off in my home. Another stunning and creative way to reclaim old wood. Great job Andy
