This is the last piece I obtained from the old Oak gate post that I discovered. I simply planned on making a hybrid hollow kind with blood red resin, but I had some flame orange resin leftover from another job, so included that to the top which offered a cool looking fire effect so chose a Lava Lamp instead.
take a look at the rest of the pieces I made here-.

Goblet? Nope. Beer glass? Nope! Turned out to be more useful than I would have thought, and even more beautiful than I expected! Thanks Andy!!
We love you, Andy!

Thank you very much!
What a great idea! That turned out beautiful Andy!
That was a lovely surprise at the end! I thought you were making a vase. The colours of the wood and resin compliment each other beautifully, and the light makes it look like there’s a “flame” inside! Absolutely stunning!
Just what I needed this morning. I always enjoy the transformation of an unpromising chunk of second-hand wood into something unexpected. The final effect reminds me of an Olympic torch, the resin being the perfect colour for the job.
Along with most of the commenters here, I was speculating at about half-way in; a vase? a goblet? Ohhh. A lamp! Your vision, artistry and skill never disappoints.
I just love how you can turn what is essentially a piece of redundant firewood into something so beautiful. The Olympic torch has arrived!! ๐ฅฐ
Andy, even for you that’s extraordinarily creative – and beautiful! I love the way that the jaggedness of the rotted top of the post suggests a flame. Enjoy the Games!
Now that is cool. A way to turn an old piece of scrap wood into something beautiful and so useful as well. Thatโs a cracking piece.
Thanks ๐
That us absolutely gorgeous. Love the colours. ๐งก๐๐งก๐๐งก๐๐งก
Amazing how some resin and creativity can transform what looks like a rotten old gatepost into something so stunning. Then the addition of the cable and LED’s takes it to the next level. That would be the sort of lamp I would love to buy and show off in my home. Another stunning and creative way to reclaim old wood. Great job Andy
The old gate post lives on and on.
Would never have thought an old gatepost could turn into something so beautiful. A lovely piece as always!
I like the simplicity of the shape. I think it accentuates the wood. Great work.
L.E.D. Loving Every Detail! Another great work of art.
