Wood Turning the World Cup Ball – Telstar 18

I have wood turned the which is this year's World Cup football/. It is a sphere with approximately 2013 pieces. It is made mainly of maple with a patterned section of birch, cherry, , and ebony. It is 9" in diameter and 4lbs 7 oz. It is hollow. I constructed the form with three intersecting rings; these rings are made up of 12 rectangular pieces and 6 square pieces. 8 triangular pieces fill the space in between the rings to complete the sphere. The surface is oil.

  9. being as a wood worker I can say A pro wood worker must need to know the geomatic , or all the measures in math, but at the Lathe point what you did its near impossible to end it perfectly,, but you did it sir,, you did a great job, its not you just did it right you even carried the right geomatic and put some of your best art on it and the rust is stunning, & with the right tool with the right use things will be shaped as you wanted to,, loved your all work sir, subscribed and liked all of em..
