I create and build a sculptural floor lamp that blurs the line between functional furnishings and visual art, using a simple arrow sign as the structure. Drawing from my background in graphic design and woodworking, I check out how light, color, repeating, and material choice can change a familiar graphic form into something expressive and atmospheric. The piece combines walnut, layered acrylic, and customized lighting to develop a light that not only lights up a room physically, however also alters how the space feels. Along the method, the develop consists of experimentation, mistakes, analytical, and a couple of moments of real surprise. Eventually leading to an ended up piece that surpassed my expectations.

For a minute there I thought The Drunken Woodworker was back. 😄
EPIC!! Looks awesome man. You’re an artist for sure!
Hey David, just wanted to say the projects and your spirit in these videos are great. Love the energy and the work. Don’t stop.
“it’s going to be messy on the inside, but we’re all messy on the inside” @15:52 words of wisdom. Amazing works as always.
That looks awesome! Nice job, man.
Looks awesome! One idea to consider: use magnets on the front panel to attach to the body so you don’t see any bolts holding it together. Again, killer project – keep it up!
Love the sign work!
If glueing two boards on backwards, almost ruined your whole day and you’re gonna send your assistant home, you might want to consider therapy
Love the back light illumination. I will surely play with that concept in my next sign build 🤩
And the concept for my late Papa’s billiard balls/cues display case is fully realized. Thanks 👌
So good David!
Wow!! Cool piece!! Cheers from Toledo, Ohio!! Lolzzz
Beautiful work, Dave! Really well done!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Beautiful!
That is the coolest arrow with smaller arrows inside of it on a pole that I have ever seen.
Really nice looking work! Appreciate seeing all the steps to make it happen. It’s so cool when you get exactly what you were imagining
Looks SO good, dude!
This slaps! Dave is the best! Mahalo for sharing!❤
I want to see you do more woodworking projects with electronics. This arrow turned out amazing!
I love the color scheme. It’d look great in the mythical bar that I’ve built in my mind. Awesome!
