  1. Thanks for this, I’ve got my first table saw for Christmas and feel apprehensive about using it. I’m going to buy myself one of these too.

  2. I’ve got one.. my wife too got me mine. I have being using table saws for over 40 years, my first table saw was a 14″ home made table saw my grandfather made!! I learned to use that, listening to my father and learning about kickback, how it happens and why it happens. learn to focus and concentrate, know your kit, medium and ensuring your family and friends know when that saw is on my concentration should never be disturbed. I was 8 when I started using table saws, and I’ve still got all ten digits.. safety lies with the user and the user only.

  3. Good reminder to stay safe. Also just to mention something you said in a previous video, at least I thought it was you, and this is about not standing directly behind the blade if the saw. Thus if you do inadvertently get kick back, your body is not in the way.

  4. I got a pair of grippers shortly after getting my first table saw and felt the same way. Feeling of safety and confidence went up enormously. I use them for almost every cut except big panel cuts.
I know people love their Sawstops, but I feel like I get more protection from using the grippers at a fraction of the cost because my hands always have a barrier from the blade and I have kickback protection with better cleaner cuts.

  5. I got the Gripper many years ago and I love it. Good to know i can get replacement parts. Also i didn’t know how to clean the green grippy part til today. I thought i would have to buy new. Thanks for showing that isopropyl alcohol would get them back into good grip again.
Thanks for your videos. They are great. The wine bottle holder is so cool! What an awesome idea.
    😊

  6. Great video, ive actually got one on my christmas list. Dont listen to the haters saying this is just an ad! You are giving good information on saftey while creating a beautiful product!! Merry christmas my friend

  7. I came across one slight problem with the wine rack. I made the base out of a large 2″ thick solid cherry to keep it bottom-heavy. And it is without a doubt very sturdy, and there’s no chance of tipping over. Although, since it is so tall and thin, there is a slight amount of flex when placing and removing wine bottles in the top couple of cubbies. I don’t think it’s an issue at all except it doesn’t “feel” like a high-end piece of furniture. To overcome this, I think once we find a permanent home for it, I’ll also add a wall mount up top. But since the entire piece is made out of solid cherry, it may shrink and expand over the seasons, changing its height slightly. That’s going to make the wall mount a little tricky. In the meantime, I’m going to measure its height in January and again in June to see how much it moves. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    1. @MakeSomething  … Maybe a small cleat or a few carefully spaced cleats … wood, brass, aluminum, or acrylic in your signature color(s). 🤔

    2. You never show it straight on, but assuming it doesnt have a back at all. And that looks cooler for sure but a back, even just in the shapes, would allow you to tie 3,4 of them together with one piece of thin cherry ply. Thus giving it some racking strength without much change to design. Now that wont make any difference in wobble from long lever affects, but if its flex between the cubbies it would help. Or maybe little wider base?

  8. Waste 438 seconds on this ad. It’s a great ad. Much work went into this and it’s worth the watch.

  9. Stunning piece! I do think my cat would be trying to climb it 🤣
I am only 5’6, so I always had hubbie do my table saw work. I saw/got the gripper 5 years ago and it has given me the confidence to take over the beast!

  10. Originally saw these on Steve Ramsey channel years ago. Use a GRR-Ripper and more recently GRR-Ripper2 and love them both. Also have a SawStop.

  11. Terrific product for sure. I purchased one when they first came out. That Wine holder unit is really over the top David! Well done! 👍👍

  12. Love my MicroJig. I’ve never had a kickback using mine. The two times I have had a kickback it was using one of my two other DIY pushers.

  13. I always thought the Gripper was an overpriced gimmick product. But I bought one of MicroJig’s other push blocks to use on my jointer and was amazed by it’s function and quality (the grip is fantastic compared to foam push blocks). So I reluctantly bought a Gripper. It’s awesome. I will never use any other push block. It always makes me feel more confident and safe when using my table saw. It’s good to know they sell replacement parts. I’ve only cut into my Gripper once, so far.

  14. Good Day 🌅, Gripper you little ripper, 😂, great safety aspect, I was watching a YouTube this morning from Japan, the young guy was pushing his wood over the joint using his hands, and we all know what happens if the wood disappears backwards, 😮, I left a comment. I think the comment got remove., I love the design of the bottle rack, I have something similar but it’s made out of clay pottery,
The gripper is not too bad of a price over here where I am in Europe it’s approximately 75 €80 , plus delivery, 🚚 keep up the great work stay safe if in doubt pick him up put them in your mouth and go to hospital, well that’s what I’ve been told, 😂, from France,

  15. Bought a couple of these jigs when I got my first tablesaw – directly as a result of seeing them in so many of your videos. They’re fantastically versatile. I just wish I had enough time to do more woodworking.

  16. As a one-legged woodworker, where balance can be sketchy, I never made a cut without using The Gripper!
Wishing you and Kelly a very Merry Christmas!!
