I turned a $17 plastic alarm clock into something that actually feels created– timeless, purposeful, and worth keeping. In this video I keep the original electronics and reconstruct everything around them, beginning with a rough very first variation that still felt too do it yourself, then resetting for a 2nd pass with higher standards, tighter percentages, and a more industrial, manufactured feel. Along the way I'm battling the constraints the circuit boards force on spacing and button placement, making (and repairing) mistakes, and chasing after that moment when the item lastly seems like it was always suggested to exist by doing this.

  4. Great work David! Personally, I liked the wood version better. However, the metal one looks cool as well!
