In this woodturning video I turned a Horse Chestnut Burl into a natural edge type and completed it with Danish oil. This might be one of the coolest natural edges I've turned.

And educational – I think you’ve turned horse chestnut recently and I’ve always thought of it as a wood with very little in the way of much positive to be said about it. It doesn’t even burn that well or at least doesn’t give out a load of heat; and it’s too soft to use for anything constructive. Thanks Andy.

I thought that the dark coloured cleft toward the base of the piece was going to detract from the grain in the remainder. I would have reshaped the piece to remove it. But then it turned out to completely complement the natural edge. What do I know? Nothing, that’s what!
