Woodturning – He’s got the whole world in his hands !!

You have probably seen me turn a few worlds on my channel, but I've just revealed the full process on the very first I made, which to be truthful wasn't that good!! So in this video I go through the full process utilizing a number of Maple Burr blanks which I glued together to form the sphere blank, drawing the continent's is constantly challenging but on this I had to make certain the take part the blanks was in the ocean, so it would not be seen, so I needed to use even more artistic licence than I usually do. Thanks for examining it out.

  1. Morning Andy
As someone who loves globes & maps these are some of my favourites that you make. I love it πŸ€—πŸ’œ…The world is in safe hand 😊. Havs a nice weekend

  2. As a 63 year old who would like to start wood turning, I don’t think I will live long enough or ever be able to turn enough to develop this incredible level of artistry!

    Absolutely stunning work. ❀

    1. If you’ve got the money, you’ve got the time! 63 is more than enough time, you just need the tools, some simple training, and the will to do it! You may not turn out the level of quality you see here, but you’ll never know if you don’t try…

  3. Timely considering the whole world could see 5 other planets in alignment a few days ago from earth. Such a beautiful sculpture ❀

  4. I love your globes, no matter how you want them to turn out (I have a particular soft spot for your “half a globe”, showing the core), but I really appreciate how much of the process you showed us this time.
Was that a blue ink or acrylic paint you used for the oceans? Whatever it was, it’s a stunning hue.
Bravo maestro! You’ve stunned me again with your awesome talent. It’s absolutely beautiful!
Edit: meant to say how the way you did it this time made it look like there were clouds over the oceans. Like looking from the ISS! Would you consider painting the continents too? I can imagine that would be mind-blowing!

  5. I’ve said it before, you wood turner’s are the Mad Scientist’s of the Artisan world! Congratulations on your beautiful work of art.

  6. Absolutely fantastic … I’d have problems even trying to draw Britain, never mind to scale and the entire planet … brilliant πŸ‘

  7. love your globes I’m always impressed you can draw the world freehand! ❀🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  8. Artistic license, or not; this is marvelous. The Maple burr was the perfect wood for this, and you managed the joint, perfectly. You have mad skills. πŸ™‚

  9. I really like this globe Andy. It has an extra quality to it which I can’t put into words. πŸ‘πŸ»

  10. Your freehand work is otherworldly. Thanks for starting my weekend off the right way. 😊

  11. Absolutely stunning, Andy! πŸ‘ And in my view this magnificent globe demonstrates the highest and best use of blue goo — as water!

  12. Andy, after seeing your proficiency in globes and the advancements in space photography I was wondering if one day soon you might start doing other planets or say our moon? I think you’d knock that out of the park, light and dark sides with craters all around. Your work is incredible inspirational and oddly meditative, thank ~Smile oN

  13. My favorite one since the pencil globe! 🌏 Fantastic work Andy. The depth of the water is incredible and the wood has such wonderful burles. I am going to have to camp out at the online store for this one.
