How Can Fungi Look That Good !!

Here's a hollow kind turned from a piece of Spalted Ash. Constantly astonished at the figuring triggered by spalting. For any one who does not know spalting is lumber that has developed unique, ornamental coloration and patterns triggered by fungis in the early phases of decay.

  7. Another beautiful hollow form. Epoxy color added a really gorgeous touch, complimenting the already brilliant wood. Where do you source your wood? Self collected? Donations? Local sawyer or wood shop? The sheer volume of burls and spalted woods over the years has been staggering.

  8. Resin added just the right splash of colour. Spalting does create a gorgeous pattern…mother nature is the best artist.
