I'm an enthusiastic music lover who recently revamped my audio system with a brand-new turntable cartridge and amplifier. My next mission? Crafting high-end speakers. This DIY journey includes 4 phases: building cabinets with accurate specs and electrical wiring, emphasizing design, creating stands that are visually striking and minimize bass vibration transfer, and developing the speaker grills. I've made use of a high-end DIY package from CSS Audio; it's like piecing together a puzzle. I'm insanely pleased with how these ended up and they sound absolutely amazing!

Nice speakers. Love the way they turned out always a sucker for walnut.
I needed exactly this for the same reason. Thank you.
❤️
Just picked up a metal circular saw myself, commercial hvac installer/everything hobbyist, and it’s one of the best tools I’ve ever owned. Specifically, it cuts through ductwork like a stick of butter. We call it the screamer, for obvious reasons
Your editing is getting sharper and funnier every video. Love it!
Fantastic! Are the teardrop stands the project you were talking with about Jimmy & Bob where you wanted to try expanding foam? I’m curious if you tried it and if it was as catastrophic as they said it would be.
I ended up not trying it because I couldn’t find a good way to pour the expanding foam in. I went the safe route. 🙂
My favorite video yet! I will never make a set of speakers, but loved watching you do it!
Not a negative comment!
I really enjoyed this video, David. I especially liked the synthwave/vaporwave style music played in this video.
Those speakers look amazing and I really like the aerodynamic pillars you made for them. 👌
Thank you!
Great build David. I hit the like button but I don’t think that using the laser jet is cheating. Thanks for reminding us that you’re human too and can make the same mistakes as us. It’s no big deal and you just move on. Your rules of woodworking are awesome.
Beautiful work, Dave! They look amazing!!! 😃
Looking forward to the next build!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Amazing design and finish, one of the rare projects where I thought, “I want to do that.” One thing that helps when doing the CNC stack up is to model in two dowel holes. Then you can use the dowel to align everything. I was going to leave a double negative (to turn it into a positive) but you want no negative comments…
Oh yeah, that’s a great idea! Next time! thanks!
I wasn’t sure about those stands when you first started working on them, but the finished product turned out amazing!
Man, the foam insulation with veneer, the dowel as trim, love it all!
The production of the video was as amazing as the speaker stands. They look incredible!
Awesome speakers man! Good job! They look amazing! Oughta be able to jam out right with those speakers!!
Love the result. Great timing – I’m just digging into building my own 2TD-X’s. That said, what happened to the 1TD’s from a year or so ago?
BRRROOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! This looks incredible!! Can’t wait to see the cabinet build – well done man! Also, the humor and editing in this video is top notch. You’re hitting on all cylinders, my man!
Dude, you did everything so perfect today!
Dave, those look great~! I really like the ad lib with the covers on the uprights of the speaker stands. Those turned out great. Not a criticism, but when you showed the final pic, I thought that it would look good if the grills were mirror images of each other. Just my $0.02 worth. Speakers are something I’ve always wanted to tackle. Maybe one day. Nicely done~!!
I agree about the mirrored look.
Again, this is a friggin’ entertaining video with an amazing result. Don’t you ever stop making videos, David!!!
