Hardwood from Kencraft:

In this woodworking job, I take an unusual vintage Hamm's Beer sign and entirely reimagine it as a larger, handmade piece of art made from strong walnut. Utilizing standard woodworking techniques, laser cutting, LED lighting, and even movie photography, I change a collectible plastic sign into a mid-century modern inspired, backlit picture frame any maker or woodworker would be happy to show. From milling broad walnut boards and laminating panels, to creating custom information in Blend 360 and adding handmade touches, this build is all about imagination, workmanship, and turning basic materials into something amazing. Whether you enjoy furniture style, DIY tasks, or the artistic side of woodworking, this video is for you.

  1. Damn! This project brought back memories of going to the liquor store as a kid when the new advertising signs came out. We could put our names on the back of the signs, and when they were changed the next month, we could take the old ones. We had a lot of beer advertising in our bedrooms! Lol😂

  2. Love to see 3d printing used in a way that doesn’t look like cheap plastic. Very inspiring project!

  3. Super cool project. Anyone remember the Hamm’s Bear? Brain washing kids to drink Hamms 😂 ❤

  4. ….if only I could show this in my woodworking classes without getting called to the principal’s office.

    Excellent Work!

  5. This is a super cool project ! I like the design, the shapes, the different material, the colors ! Everything is cool !! Well done !

  6. Looks great. You were on the right track for realism with the brightly colored bricks. This is how its done in miniature making. Initially it looks terrible because the bright oranges and blues look out of place, but when you do a nice dark grey or black paint wash over top, everything looks much more cohesive while still getting that little bit of variance that happens.

  7. Girl same! I’ve got some vintage bottles & a can as well as a light up cheapo sign (I remade the box & rewired it) & hat & t-shirt.

  8. Absolutely love your videos man. I was a cinematographer for a decade but am now starting to make build videos. Your channel has been an encouragement and inspiration for me for a couple of years now. Thank you so much for actually building creative things and not just reviewing tools all the time. Really appreciative of your work.

  9. Nice project as always. I noticed your quick move with the gripper better to cut the gripper than a finger.
