This lake house included a shoe rack that never felt like it belonged. Rather of replacing it with another low-cost solution, I decided to create something that fit the area– even though it pushed me outside my typical style. This is an easy, durable shoe rack built for a rental home, with a little creative detail included simply to keep things fascinating. It's a task about adapting your design instincts, listening to a space, and discovering creativity in constraints.

I love seeing you get out of your usual style and build something aesthetically different.
Good job on the shoe rack like it. Looks awesome
Love the finger protection. Just goes to show, with all of that spooge out, one can never be too careful. Another awesome project. Not an arrow lamp cool but I’m inspired by you embracing being out of your comfort zone.
If the width really annoys you, cut the conduit about 1″ from the ends and 3D print an adapter to go to the next larger EMT size.
Awesome as always, keep em coming
Always enjoy your content.
as a (mostly) Behind the camera person I am sad to hear Daniel is gone. life happens I’m sure there is a good reason there is someone new, behind the camera and I can’t wait to see how they do!
You could cut the conduit in a few places and add conduit fittings in order to lengthen the bar? Just a thought
Definitely an upgrade. And the kitsche style fits the other decor, while still being unique. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Daniel, be well. ❤. Great project, love the art!
Love O Brother where art thou! Great background movie!
Also, project is pretty nice too. Lol
Come for the woodworking, stay for the music 🎶
It fits in perfectly with the decor while retaining your attention to detail and style.
Truly amazing work, Dave! It looks fantastic!!! 😮
Really well done!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
That finger glove shot at the end was the epitome of not having to say a word. Comedy gold, man.
Electrical conduit is so good. I have two large patio doors/windows in my house. I used conduit instead of the normal cheap expandable curtain rod. It’s one pice and is stiff enough to span the distance without sagging.
I’ve commented on this video far more than I typically comment, but last one – the sanding on that looks really cool. It not only gives it that worn look, but also seems to add unintentional shading to the end piece. Looks great, man!
Great video. Love the ear worm “Pair of Rings” ditty. Super cool shoe rack. Mahalo for sharing! : )
