  1. Oh man this had me howling throughout. Listened to the podcast recently and so I knew this was coming and boy it didn’t disappoint πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Thank you so much for sharing- love this stuff every now and then in amongst your rebuilds of old games etc.

  2. I haven’t watched a woodworking video in ages so I don’t know how this ended up on my recommended, but I’m sure glad it did. This is hilarious, thanks for the great content!

    1. He also had 3 or 4 inches to lower the angle of attack with the flat one. It was just a failure all over the place with that one.

  3. David, I think you missed the option on the grinding wheel. They did have options that said “Bevel Wood Grinding Disc”, “Arc Wood Carving Disc”, and “3PCS/SET”. I’m sure you would have loved the set and thrown the Turbo Plane away. 😁
These vids have suspense and are hilarious.
Thanks for taking the time and $$’s. JimE

  4. I am overly sad that the magic thumb didn’t arrive. That is one of the most important woodworking tools out there! And the edge angle gauge, wow, that was some quality gadget. I think that the company would have been better off not shipping you anything. Thanks for the video.

  5. I love it when you do these scam shows. I don’t like such an idiot when I got my golden charm instead of a toolbox. While I blame myself, I do feel like Instagram could do a bit more to protect the consumer. Because now I don’t buy anything pitched on Instagram.

  6. Hilarious when you were surprised when the disc was flat. The website had curved ones in the listing, and you actually got what you ordered.

  7. I wanted one of those protractort-square combos but I’m reeeeaaaaly glad I didn’t take a chance. πŸ˜… Thanks for doing it for us!

  8. For the lift table, try a credit card that lets you have One Use credit card number (and you set the limit that can charge to it for a single charge). Capital One does this I think.

  9. When you were showing the bendiness of the little t-angle-thingy, I fully expected you would open it up and find another fan, like there’s just some company in China that takes your money and sends you a fan.

  10. I was just noticing on the edge plane you got it was missing the brass knob on the side to keep the blade from moving around. That’s why it was loose.

  11. i fell for that red t square POS too. When it arrived i instantly wanted my money back but the site i bought from was gone. I disputed the purchase with my CC company and they refunded the cost. I’d like to see you make some purchases from Banggood and tell us what those items are like. Hooked on wood reviews them but i think he’s sponsored so not trustworthy IMO.

  12. I bought the sharing guide, the tracking number never worked. But in about 2 weeks it actually showed up. Not a bad tool! Small width chisels are not long enough but the larger ones worked well. Haven’t tried a plane iron yet.

  13. I really enjoy this series! I hope you continue to make more of these videos! Thanks for wasting your money for our entertainment!

  14. Thanks David as I needed a freaking good laugh today! So glad that you got SCAMMED! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  15. The cheese grater disc was also Saker in the description on that site, but you would need one of the spacers for an angle grinder and the low profile lock nut to get that thing close to working. It will make a nice anti slip coaster or a heavy duty washer for a bolt that acts as a lock washer πŸ˜‚.

  16. I bought one of those magic thumb magic tricks back in highschool. I was flying back from Japan and thanks to a scheduling issue with planes I had a 10 hour overlay, so I bought some dumb things in the air port to entertain myself

  17. I am quite disappointed that you did not receive the ‘magic thumb’. I can just see you or Dangerous Dan wearing that around the shop. I agree with Dan. Measuring around corners is a feature that is purty unique. I always miss seeing project videos, because you create such interesting items, but I have to say that I have enjoyed watching these ‘scam videos’.
    Thanks for a fun video.

  18. When you bought the grinder wheel, the title on the item listing also started off with Saker. Also the screengrab showing the knurled know on the angle ruler is from woodpeckers product video.

  19. This was just as hilarious as the first video thanks for doing these videos and sharing your experience and showing people how to look for these scams
