A twist on the traditional woodworking store trip. We go through one-by-one on the cost of each power tool and whether I spent for it. YouTube woodworkers tend to have huge elegant stores with all the shiny brand-new tools. I give my reasons and justify my tool choices and why my store is so odd compared to a standard woodworking store.

May be a lot of luck involved but you also put in the work. I’ve learned a lot from you over the years. You deserve all of your success. Btw you and Dan have really found your style both with editing and your presentation. Keep up the great work!
Man. That shot of your shop starting at 0:11 was so awesome. Imagine how may creative/art-focused kids would be attracted to wood working if all woodsheds looked like this.
I definitely feel like 2023 is your year. You really seem to have found your groove again and I’ve really enjoyed your projects lately.
It’s like April keeps yelling at Jimmy, you didn’t get it for free, you worked super hard to get it! Always love your videos man they’re so good!
I just listened to that episode of Making it!
Don’t worry about what anyone says. Life is about love laughter family friends and having fun. We can see you love what you do and have fun doing it. I personally want to thank you for bringing laughter and enjoyment into my home. My mother does not watch many diy videos however with some of the ones that you remake into wood from retro items she will sit here and watch them with me. Thank you again. You are creative and bring more joy to people than you will ever know.
“Sand in the place where you live” and it’s sweet to live in the place where you sand , dust free. Looking forward to many, many more cool projects from you Dave. Enjoy your day.
Your whole shop could have been sponsored for all I care, but it’s what you make with your tools that matters.
I am loving your restoration projects lately, keep em up. I even found myself going back to one of your old videos (back when you were building in the basement) for a project inspiration.
Came here for the woodworking, stayed for the fun and personality and creativity and inspiration.
Like April said, you didn’t get the tools for free, you earned them.
You do you. I’ll still keep coming back. A dogs gotta eat right?! 😂
Funny the timing of that discussion and this video 😳🤣
I love that you made this video. Your shop is looking fantastic! Also, those behind the wall scenes were the cherry on top, especially the first and last images. 💥
You’re a special human being, thanks for doing what you do (and not apologizing for it)
Definitely one of the coolest shops on YouTube!
Honestly, I think it’s cool when you are able to leverage your influence to get tools.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It’s not often you see this level of honesty and transparency. I’ve always enjoyed your content. It’s fun, and it’s accessible (mostly) (I don’t have all the digital tools you have and I struggle with the Shaper Origin….learning that I suck at digital modeling….). I have learned a lot from you. I’m always hopeful you’ll have a new project. They are truly inspiring. Not to copy, but to inspire some new project I can do. Go to the thrift store and pick up some cheapo thing, then remake it into something cool. What a great idea! The lamp was awesome. And so much fun. Thank you. Dan, nicely done on the videos! Looks great. 🙂
You’re one of the best channels on YT, imo. I always enjoy your content even though I never really plan to build what you do. But I do walk away with a ton of helpful ideas and inspirations from your builds. That’s where it counts.
I love your shop. And yes, it’s all about your creativity for our pleasure. Never change David, you are great. Cheers from Canada.
You are very creative and deserve all you worked for. Great content great job as usualll
It’s easy for people to judge the end result when no one knows the struggle it took to get there. I have watched your skill in both woodworking and content mature over the years into where you are at currently. Keep up the good work. Long live the drunken woodworker!
David, your videos over the past few months are all awesome… you can definitely “feel” how you’ve been rejuvenated. The creativity is awesome..can’t wait to see what’s next
That’s an impressive number of tools you fit into the space, it’s spectacularly well organised! Honestly, I love “free tools” (and I do have a few out of luck) but nothing you have there is free, you work hard for all of them. By far the thing I’d love the most which you have is your imagination. I can build just about anything but I lack the imagination to know what to build.
I’ve been watching for a while. Every pivot you take in your projects I’m here for. You bring an energy and a style that is real enjoyable. If I’m jealous of anything in your shop, it’s that artist wall. Man oh man. Thank you!
