I cast this pencil blank to make a number of products for the store and wasn't planning on recording it. But I've just recently had a lot of negativity towards my pencil turning and have actually upset a lot of individuals who believe It's a total waste of inexpensive pencils … So I believed the only good thing to do was to film the turning of this Coloured Pencil Hollow Kind and distress them some more!!!.

I feel like you left something out? Why is it when I sand it all the colors mix together and turn the wood black making it look horrible.

I love the colours and the shape of this piece. These pencils are also preserved for posterity in this form too. Pencil crayons (coloured pencils) are created to make art and you made art!
I love the way the pencils create patterns when they are turned. I would love to see you do something like rods or square dowels of wood interspersed with similarly shaped chunks of colored resin, too, like a rainbow effect. You could probably do some creative things with that! π
Ooh, long time no crayons! I always enjoy the mix of predictable forms and unpredictable colour effects. I don’t know if you are aware of the DiscworlΔ books of Terry Pratchett, which feature a Creator who periodically feels the overwhelming need to make a new sort of beetle when he’s fed up, but your pencils remind me of thhst@
